CHOOSING TO WALK TOGETHER
Join us as we embark to “Uncharted Territory,” a new six-week sermon series starting September 12-13 based off the parable of the Good Samaritan. Together we’ll take a closer look at this story Jesus told and how its principles carry over to our current culture. The Good Samaritan went out of his way to help someone he could easily have walked past, but compassion compelled him to help. Compassion compelled him to choose to cross the street and to walk together with the hurt man.
IN THIS SIX-WEEK SERIES WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO:
1. JOIN A LIFE GROUP
Choose to walk together with others in our church family and in your neighborhood (there’s a group in your neighborhood!).
2. PARTICIPATE IN 21 DAYS OF PRAYER
It will amplify your spiritual walk with Jesus.
3. ATTEND CHURCH IN PERSON OR ONLINE
We are one church with many locations, including in-person gatherings in Issaquah, West Seattle and online.
4. USE THE HASHTAG #LIFEUNCHARTED
Let us see how you are connecting to those around you by using the #lifeuncharted hashtag and tagging @eastridgechurch in your social media posts.
Life in the past few months has reminded us how much we need relationships and connection. The Uncharted Territory series will deal with how we show love to our neighbors in 2020. Uncharted Territory Life Groups will be (at least to start) online video groups, but the emphasis will be on connecting as individual neighborhoods so that you can meet with other Eastridge attenders who live just blocks away from you. This will allow group members to participate in prayer walks together, meet spiritual and tangible needs in specific geographical areas, and meet together in person when it is appropriate to do so.
Don’t see a group in your neighborhood? Email firstname.lastname@example.org so we can get one started!
21 DAYS OF PRAYER & FASTING
The Bible is filled with stories of God’s people being called to pray and fast. From Esther to Jesus, there are countless stories of God showing up in powerful and miraculous ways because His people got uncomfortable and sought His presence in their lives.
Pastor Steve is calling everyone who calls Eastridge their church home to join him in 21 days of prayer for our church, community, nation and world (starting September 14). Imagine the impact and blessings God has for our lives as we prepare our hearts and surrender it all to Him.
Fasting comes in many forms but the intent is always the same — to lay something down that is meaningful to you with the intent of filling it with more of God through prayer. A good place to start is by asking yourself, “What am I allowing to come between me and God’s presence?” From food to entertainment, what you choose to fast is not as important as your focus on God while you fast. During this 21 days of prayer and fasting, trust that God wants to show up for us abundantly above and beyond what we could ask or imagine!
