EASTRIDGE KIDS IS INTENTIONAL ABOUT MAKING DISCIPLES
At Eastridge we want to partner with families to help give their children a solid biblical foundation to build their lives on. We do this through creating a safe environment, teaching a solid curriculum and providing a consistent small group experience for your kids. We hope that Eastridge Kids can be a place for you and your family to connect deeply with God and connect deeply with others!
WHAT TO EXPECT AT EASTRIDGE KIDS
SAFE ENVIRONMENT
It is of the utmost importance to our team to provide a safe environment for your children to encounter God and develop a positive church experience. We take great care in selecting the leaders who serve in our ministry. They are required to attend our NEXT classes, fill out a ministry team application, sign our honor code, have a personal interview with a ministry leader and attend trainings. At our weekend services we use a check-in system in our environment that helps to enforce security checkpoints while still remaining warm and welcoming to our families.
CURRICULUM
We teach a curriculum called Orange which stands for the unconditional love of the family (red) combined with the light of the church (yellow) gives you Orange. On Sunday mornings we play fun, energetic songs (led by other kids) where kids learn to worship their God and Creator. We want to provide opportunities where kids can experience God in a way that is real and personal to them. Kids then experience a Bible story through an engaging video followed by age-based small groups. Please see the video below to learn more about our curriculum.
CONSISTENT SMALL GROUP EXPERIENCE
We are passionate about providing a consistent small group experience for our kids. That includes a consistent leader, consistent participants and consistent format. This helps children to develop deep relationships with an intentional leader and with other children. This relational environment is where we believe disciples of Jesus are made. This small group time begins with reading a story from the Bible followed by the opportunity to rebuild the story by telling it back to their leader in their own words. This method helps the kids engage with that specific Bible story three times throughout our service, increasing greatly their chances of committing it to memory. We then provide engaging activities (crafts, games, etc.) that tie back to the Bible story and helps kids see how the story applies to their lives. We finish by praying for one another. This is a powerful time for kids to learn different ways to pray, to pray for others and see how God is coming through for them.
