About Bob Mortimer:
The minute Bob Mortimer rolls in front of an audience they realize he has something unique to share. His undefeated attitude and relaxed humor captures even the most aloof listener. At the age of 21, Bob’s, involvement with alcohol and other drugs led to a tragic night. Returning home from getting “wasted” one night, the car he was in knocked down a power pole. Bob walked from the car and into the power lines. The electrocution resulted in the loss of both legs and his left arm.
A few years later Bob realized his biggest handicap was not his lost limbs but his lost soul. He raised his only arm from the back of a church admitting he needed Jesus. And his life changed. Bob tells a story of hope for individuals and families being damaged by alcohol and drug use; a story of encouragement for those struggling to overcome the challenges in their lives; and a story of turning tragedy into triumph. In 2008, Bob led his family from Gig Harbor, WA to the Statue of Liberty on bicycles. Bob pedaled his handcycle with one arm. His book tells the story of his life while chronicling that 2500 mile journey. You will be inspired by Bob’s message of finding Hope and courage to face the mountains in his life.
